Read this if you want to learn how to add shortcut keys for BlueWhaleMail on Nokia E61 (or similar) phone.
To have easy access to BlueWhaleMail, you can setup your phone so that when you press the left or right "shortcut" keys (usually just under your phone's screen) while your phone is in "standby" it will start BlueWhaleMail (or switch to BlueWhaleMail if it's already started). Below are the steps that allow you to do that.
Setting left/right shortcut key
| From the Main Menu select Tools | | | Select Settings | | | Select Phone | | | Select Standby mode | | | Focus over Left selection key and select Options -> Change | | | On the next screen select BlueWhaleMail | | | Once you have selected BlueWhaleMail, on the next screen you will see your Left selection key updated. | | | If you exit back to the main screen you will see that the left selection key is now set to BlueWhaleMail. To start the BlueWhaleMail software you simply need to press the left button. | |
Adding BlueWhaleMail as one of the standby apps
| From the Main Menu select Tools | | | Select Settings | | | Select Phone | | | Select Standby mode | | | Make sure that Active standby is set to On | | | Focus over Active standby apps. | | | Select Options -> Change | | | Focus over Shortcut 1 | | | Select Options -> Change | | | Select BlueWhaleMail | | | Once you have selected BlueWhaleMail, the shortcut will be updated. | | | If you exit back to the main screen you will see BlueWhaleMail icon as the first icon on the standby screen. To start the BlueWhaleMail software you simply need to focus over the icon and press the middle key. | |
You have now successfully added shortcuts to BlueWhaleMail software on your phone. You can now go back to the Nokia Quick Start Guide E61.
